This ramp has been a fantastic upgrade for helping our dog get in and out of the car. The texture is like a hard rubber with little holes—kind of like a squished loofah—which provides excellent traction, even in wet conditions. This is a huge improvement over my old plastic ramp, which became dangerously slippery in rain, snow, or condensation. I feel much safer using this ramp for my dog.I tested it myself by sitting on it (I’m 256 lbs), and while it held up fine and only dropped about an inch, I wouldn’t recommend humans—adults or even kids—using it. A kid jumping on it could create a lot more force than the 250 lb weight limit, which could potentially damage it. This ramp is definitely designed with pets in mind and works well for small, medium, large, and some extra-large dogs. Just be sure to train your dog young to use ramps if possible—it makes a world of difference later on.In the pictures, you can see the measurements I took using my 2020 Honda HR-V EX, which isn’t as high as an SUV. From the ground to the top of my bumper is about 22 1/2 inches, and the ramp reaches about 68 inches without the feet and 70 inches with the 2-inch feet included. The width of the ramp is 19 3/4 inches, with 1 3/4 inches of metal on each side, leaving about 16 1/4 inches of the special textured material for dogs to climb. When folded, it measures about 5" x 19 5/8" x 19 3/4".The handle is a fantastic feature for transporting the ramp, and while it’s listed as 19 lbs, it doesn’t feel that heavy to me. Even some handicapped individuals might find it manageable to open and close. The longer length compared to my old plastic ramp provides a less steep incline, which is great for older dogs or those with mobility issues. For the price, this ramp is an absolute steal. Compared to the plastic ramp I have or others I’ve looked at online with similar dimensions, this one offers so much more value. It’s sturdier, safer, and more practical for pets. While it folds compactly, I do wish it came with a carrying case and unfolded a bit differently. Initially, I flipped it upside down to open it, which could scratch the metal and remove paint. After watching the video, I learned to open it on its side instead. My recommendation would be to add plastic protection on the sides to prevent scratches.Overall, this ramp is thoughtfully designed with pets in mind. The durable materials, excellent traction, less steep incline, and fantastic price make it a wonderful option for pet owners. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a sturdy and reliable ramp for their furry friends!
